Forward: I want to thank my good friend Sarah Robins for contributing to the Hustle & Nurture community with this article. When I first read it, it brought tears to my eyes. The tears were from the truth that her article reveals and from her belief in my dream to create a safe place for working moms to come and get refreshed. Who are you in God’s eyes? By: Sarah Robins
You are a unique and special gift that God has given to His creation.
In the book of Jeremiah chapter one verse five, God told Jeremiah “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew and approved of you, and before you were born, I separated and set you apart, consecrating you and I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” This is not a unique statement that only applies to the prophet Jeremiah. Peter tells us in the book of Acts chapter 10 verse 34 “… that God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons.”
This means God knew YOU, before He gave you to your parents.
Before your life began inside your mother, you were with God.
You were known by God and He already planned what you would experience and accomplish.
Before the pressures of this earthly life began setting expectations on you, God had already loved you. God determined a special purpose for your life that only you can fulfill.
You can breathe a sigh of relief. He is not asking you to cure cancer or bring world peace in your own might and strength – or manage your house, kids, and job on your own.
God is asking you to spend time with Him and let Him direct your path. God already knows everything that will happen, and He is in control of everything. God wants to hear from you. Talk to Him, tell Him your worries, and ask Him to direct you. God wants to be your support and strength.
1 Peter chapter five verse seven:
“Casting the whole of your care – all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all –
on Him; for He cares for you affectionately, and cares about you watchfully.”
Psalms chapter 55 verse 22:
“Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be moved –
made to slip, fall or fail.”
Proverbs chapter three verses five and six:
“Lean on, trust and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind, and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge Him and He will direct and make straight and plan your paths.
